Grasmere Lodge is pleased to welcome a qualified nature guide, Steve Smith or ‘Smithy,’ to the team.
His arrival and our current Green Globe status contribute to our standing as one of New Zealand’s leading environmentally-considerate lodges.
Steve has hiked and fished in the Arthur’s Pass and Marlborough Sounds regions all his life, and is excited to be in his favorite high country playground. For the past five years he has worked with the Department of Conservation and a neighbouring hotel, after leaving corporate life and qualifying in Environmental Studies.
His extensive knowledge of local flora and fauna adds a new dimension to our complimentary farm tours.
